Dr. Victoria Lam originally grew up in Edmonton, Alberta. In high school, she had an interest and passion for optometry and decided to complete her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Waterloo specializing in Biomedical Sciences. She was then accepted into the only Canadian English-speaking Doctor of Optometry program at the University of Waterloo. Dr. Lam is certified by both the Optometry Examining Board of Canada (CACO or OEBC) and in the United States (NBEO).
During Dr. Lam’s externship placements in Waterloo and Toronto, she was exposed to a great deal of interesting cases relating to binocular vision, dry eye disease, and ocular disease including diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and macular degeneration. Dr. Lam is also certified in the use of Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents (TPA) and is able to prescribe medications to treat various diseases.
Dr. Lam hopes to further expand her knowledge and skills in orthokeratology and vision therapy at Dr. Nan Jiang’s clinic. Dr. Lam speaks English but can provide eye exams in Cantonese and converse in Mandarin. She lives in Markham with her husband, daughter, and son.
